  • Giants plan to interview Josh McDaniels, Eric Studesville for head coaching job

The Giants have reportedly scheduled to interview at least two of their coaching candidates at the end of the week.

Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will interview on Friday while former Broncos running backs coach Eric Studesville will meet with the team on Thursday,Authentic Joe Haden Jersey,According to multiple reports, per The Record.

The Daily News has been reporting that McDaniels, along with Patriots defensive coordinator Matt Patricia are the Giants' top two candidates for the job.

41,Womens Anthony Chickillo Jersey, has won two Super Bowls as the Patriots offensive coordinator,McDaniels, a position he has held since 2012 and from 2006-08 prior to that. He remains a highly-sought after head coaching candidate throughout the league — with interviews scheduled for the Bears and Colts jobs this week — despite an unsuccessful stint from 2009-10 as head coach of the Denver Broncos where he went 11-17 before being fired.

52,Authentic Stephon Tuitt Jersey, has experience as a head coach,Shurmur, going 9-23 with the Browns from 2011-12 and winning a game filling in for Chip Kelly as the Eagles interim coach 2015.

The Giants also plan to interview Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, as well as interim head coach Steve Spagnuolo.

Siemian underwent an evaluation Tuesday in Los Angeles and will have surgery Wednesday to repair the damage from a dislocation suffered Dec. 14 against the Indianapolis Colts. Siemian was sacked by linebacker Barkevious Mingo and landed hard on his non-throwing shoulder.

Siemian left that game and did not play again after being placed on injured reserve.

Siemian will likely miss the conditioning portion of the Broncos' offseason program. However,With a recovery period of eight to 12 weeks, he's expected to be ready to participate in OTAs and minicamps.

Siemian also had surgery on his left shoulder following the 2016 season after playing for most of the season with an AC joint sprain.

Siemian said his shoulder was "a little sore" as players went through their exit physicals Monday.

just like everybody else, but it's all right," he said. "... I have to get this shoulder taken care of. I'll do that and then,"Sleeping is kind of tough, come back to work and get better.''

The seventh-round pick in the 2015 draft has one year remaining on his original rookie contract.

" Siemian said when asked if he expected to be part of the Broncos' plans in 2018. "As far as I know,"I haven't thought that far ahead to be honest with you, I'm under contract another year. Excited to be back here. I have a lot of great teammates and coaches here. It's a good group to be a part of."

as Siemian, the Broncos' offense struggled mightily at times, especially with turnovers,Siemian has won back-to-back training camp battles for the starting job and started 10 games this season. However, Brock Osweiler and Paxton Lynch all started games for the team.

But the Broncos' fast start came to a screeching halt when they lost eight games in a row. This unexpected meltdown was enough to put Joseph on the hot seat just one year into his head coaching tenure. It seemed as though he’d join the list of coaches relieved of their duties on Black Monday when Broncos general manager John Elway opted to skip the Rose Bowl and stay in Denver to meet with Joseph, per Mike Klis of 9News.

The Broncos regressed in a big way in 2017. They finished with a 5-11 record and didn't look like the same team that hoisted the Vince Lombardi Trophy just two years ago.

Brock Osweiler,The source of Denver's problems came from arguably the most important position in football: quarterback. Trevor Siemian,Womens Cameron Heyward Jersey, and Paxton Lynch all started and failed to consistently provide a much-needed spark in the passing game. Denver averaged 17.7 points per game and finished the season as the 27th-ranked scoring offense.

the defense held up its end of the bargain and finished as a top-three unit. For the past three seasons,While the quarterback carousel ruined the Broncos' season, Denver has been a defensive-oriented team that needed a quarterback to help make a few plays.

which almost cost Joseph his job. In all fairness to Joseph,Womens Ryan Shazier Jersey, though,But those quarterbacks couldn't get the job done this year, he did not draft or sign any of these quarterbacks. That all falls on John Elway.

it looks like that man isn't on the roster. The Broncos can either draft another signal caller or sign one in free agency,Authentic Anthony Chickillo Jersey,What's next for the Broncos? Denver can’t rely on its defense to do it all. It has to find a quarterback who can help this team win games. As of right now,Authentic Eli Rogers Jersey, like Kirk Cousins.

led by linebacker Von Miller, has exceeded expectations for the past three years. Now,Denver's stout defense,Womens Jesse James Jersey, it's time for the offense to pick up some slack.

45, is still one of the youngest coaches in the NFL and will get another shot to prove he belongs as a head coach. However,What's next for Joseph? Joseph, he’ll have to prove he can handle offensive duties after maintaining the team’s string of defensive excellence in 2017. A league-average offense would be enough to push the Broncos back into the playoff race — and that’ll be a top priority for the team this offseason.

Broncos Country went to sleep on New Year’s Eve, hoping and expecting news to break in the morning that Vance Joseph had been relieved of his head coaching duties with the Denver Broncos.

GM John Elway wanted to sleep on it and it’s probably a good thing that he did. The Broncos have informed Coach Joseph that he will be retained for the 2018 season.

After a 5-11 season, why would it be a good thing for Joseph to return to the Broncos? Stability.

it’s been a tumultuous four years. Had the Broncos fired Joseph,Even in winning a Super Bowl, it would have been the third head coach they’d parted ways with since January of 2015.

    Think about that.

Gary Kubiak accomplished much and won a lot of games, but health prevented he and the Broncos from fulfilling their shared vision for the team. Elway didn’t want to have to be in the market for a new head coach one year ago but he had no choice,In his short time as the head coach, as Kubiak stepped down.

a relatively young and vibrant coach,Authentic Ryan Shazier Jersey,The decision to hire Vance Joseph, was meant to be a long-term move. He signed a four-year deal after all.

handed a QB situation like the one Denver had in 2017, be expected to set the NFL on fire?Womens Joe Haden Jersey, You might point to Sean McVay’s success in Los Angeles,But how could any first-year coach, but he inherited a quarterback who was selected No. 1 overall in Jared Goff. The talent was clearly there.

if a mistake was made on the QB front,Joseph initially inherited Trevor Siemian and Paxton Lynch. Now, it was the delusion that Siemian was good enough to keep the offense competitive while the ‘championship caliber’ defense could dominate and control games.

Wrong on both counts. Siemian wasn’t good enough and the Broncos defense was far removed from it’s championship caliber days.

In hindsight, Lynch probably wouldn’t have gotten injured in the third preseason game against Green Bay, rather than hosting the ‘open competition’ machinations yet again. Had Denver done so, Joseph and the Broncos should have named Lynch the starting quarterback going into OTAs and training camp, because as the starter,Authentic Jesse James Jersey, he likely wouldn’t have been playing at the time that he was when he got hurt.

had the Broncos had the mettle to play their first-round quarterback, like all NFL teams do in the second year. But again,We’d know a lot more about Paxton Lynch at this point, the Broncos were under the delusion that they were one middle-of-the-road quarterback away from contending again and that Siemian offered them the best chance to compete.

Elway and the Broncos have thoroughly been disabused of that notion. And that’s a good thing.
